Who we are

This Privacy Policy is provided by Fourth Wave Consulting, LLC, doing business as FranchiseVision (“FranchiseVision,” “we,” “us” or “our”). FranchiseVision is the franchise consulting business of David Busker and a member of the FranChoice network of franchise consultants. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 8483, Saint Louis, MO 63132.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit www.franchisevision.com (the “website”) and when you work with us as a franchise candidate, including by phone, video call, email and text message (together, our “services”).

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and city, state, province or postal code.
• Background and goals: your professional background, the type of business and ownership role you are interested in, your timing, and the markets where you would consider owning a business.
• Financial ranges: general ranges for your net worth and liquid capital, so we can identify franchises whose investment requirements fit.
• Questionnaires and consultations: answers you give in the Confidential Questionnaire and information you share during your consultation and later calls, video calls, emails and texts.
• Forms and scheduling: information you enter in our website forms, newsletter sign-up, e-book request and appointment scheduler.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, we and our service providers collect usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and the date and time of your visit, using cookies and similar technologies. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

Information from others

We may receive information about you from the FranChoice network (for example, if you first contacted FranChoice), from franchisors in the course of our conversations about your candidacy and their process, and from people who refer you to us.

How we use your information

• To respond to your inquiries, schedule calls and send the materials you request, such as our free e-book.
• To understand your goals and criteria and identify franchise brands that may fit them.
• To prepare your Candidate Model, a written summary of your goals, criteria and preferences based on your consultation.
• To introduce you to franchisors you choose to explore and to support you through the franchise investigation process.
• To refer you to other providers, such as franchise funding specialists or attorneys, when you ask us to.
• To send newsletters and updates if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To operate, secure and improve the website and our services.
• To meet our legal, tax and contractual obligations, including those under our agreement with FranChoice.

How we share your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Franchisors you choose to explore. When you agree to learn about a specific franchise brand, we share with that franchisor your contact details, your Confidential Questionnaire, a registration form and your Candidate Model. The franchisor uses this information to evaluate you as a candidate and to communicate with you, under its own privacy practices. We may also speak with the franchisor about your candidacy to help you obtain information, clarify questions and move through its discovery process. We never share our call notes or any call recordings with franchisors.
• The FranChoice network. As a member of FranChoice, we share your information with FranChoice to register introductions to franchisors, to administer our relationship, and as required by our agreement. FranChoice handles your information under its own privacy policy.
• Providers you ask us to involve. For example, a franchise funding specialist, attorney or other professional, only with your permission.
• Service providers. Companies that help us run our business, such as our customer relationship management system, video conferencing, AI note-taking tools, text messaging software, scheduling, email marketing, website hosting and statistics (WordPress and Jetpack), and Google services including Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal and safety reasons. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is needed to protect our rights, our users or the public.
• Business transfers. If our business is sold or transferred, your information may be transferred to the new owner, subject to this policy.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about scheduling, your franchise exploration and related follow-up, either directly or through our text messaging provider. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or text messaging consent with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Email

If you subscribe to our newsletter or request our e-book, we may send you emails about franchising and our services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. If you are in Canada, we send marketing emails only with your consent.

Call notes and recordings

We may use an AI note-taking tool during video calls to create notes of our discussions, which we use to assist your process, prepare your Candidate Model and follow up with you. You may ask us not to use one. We do not currently record calls, but we may begin recording video or phone calls in the future. We never share call notes or recordings with franchisors.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use it, and protect our forms from spam. These include:

• Google Analytics, which measures website traffic and usage. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Jetpack statistics (WordPress.com), which measures website traffic.
• Google reCAPTCHA, which helps protect our forms from spam and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Embedded content from YouTube (videos), Calendly (scheduling), Constant Contact (forms) and Trustindex (Google reviews), which may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
• Amazon Associates. Some book links are Amazon affiliate links. If you click one, Amazon may set a cookie to credit us for qualifying purchases.

You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Some parts of the website may not work properly if you do.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information while we work together and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal, tax and contractual obligations, resolve disputes and keep accurate business records. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

• You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We may need to keep some information to meet legal or contractual obligations.
• Information we have already shared with a franchisor or FranChoice is also held under their privacy practices. Contact them directly for requests about their copies.
• You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, and reply STOP to stop text messages.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law.

Canadian candidates

If you are located in Canada, we collect, use and disclose your personal information with your consent and for the purposes described in this policy. Your information is stored and processed in the United States and may be accessible to U.S. authorities under U.S. law. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions, by contacting us.

Children

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
